After sharing World Wide Web homebuying readiness materials with seven different adult literacy classes, we designed a student homebuying manual. As a learning tool, the manual is meant to help students navigate homebuying materials on the World Wide Web. As a homebuying resource, it is designed so that students can find answers to their most pressing homebuying questions. Inside this page you will also find lessons for integrating computer technology into the class room. The lessons include examples of how one teacher used surveys to assess her students' computer literacy level, how another teacher designed spreadsheets and amortization charts with her students, and yet how another teacher, in collaboration with his students, created homebuying readiness Web pages. Finally, we compiled an annotated list of Web-based homebuying readiness sites which we hope will provide useful landmarks as you experiment with this rich and mostly-uncharted geography.
