The Career Passport
The cutting edge Career Passport, developed at the Durham (NC) Literacy Center, is an online career assessment, planning and portfolio process. It is designed to be used with a teacher or counselor. You take (free) online career interest and skills assessments, do some basic skills brushup depending on what you need, and then put together an online portfolio of evidence of your readiness to work and for a particular job. You can save the portfolio on disk and carry it to interviews, print it out and take much of it in hard copy or, if the employer has web access, you could put it on a web page.
