When start up MS Publisher you will be presented with the
Publisher Catalog screen:
To get started click the Blank Publications tab. You then will see this:
Double click Full Page. You are now ready to start. In Publisher
you will be mainly working with two elements:
Text and Imagery. Most images will be in TIFF or BMP format. Most text is in
ASC text or MS Word text format.
Text must be placed in Text Frames. Images must be placed in Picture Frames.
Text Frame Tool looks like this (the left one):
use it to
"click and drag" a frame in which to place text.
Once drawn you can then:
-copy and paste from your favorite word processor
-type directly into box (use F9 key to increase and decrease the zoom of your page)
-import a file via import dialog box
Click Insert menu, then select Text File. Use the Open Dialog
Box to navigate your
way to text file that you want to place.
Picture Frame Tool looks like this ( the left button):
use it
to click and drag a rectangle. Once you have done this
click the Insert Menu and select Picture / From File or From Clip Art.
To Move an Image around just click and drag it around.
To resize click and drag any corner box.
The cursor will then say Resize.
To Move Objects On The Page Back And Forward
The tool on the left moves the selected object forward.
The tool on the right moves the selected object backward.
To Add more Pages to a document
Go to Insert Menu, select Page.
