Preparations

On Boston Common at 10 A.M.

We were on Boston Common at 10 o'clock in the morning

We were reviewing our questions in the Plaza outside the Park Street station of the T. Priscilla asked us who was going to ask the questions, but we were concerned that we would make mistakes in the public office because of our lack of English. Also, we never had the chance to speak to politicians in the public office. It made us shy. Soon, we had to make a decision. Jean and Lubov were going to ask some questions about bilingual programs and DSS procedures.

We are a group of adults at the Community Learning Center preparing to go to the State House of Massachusetts on Immigrants' Day. Our teacher, Priscilla talked to us about who would ask our questions. Who could be a major influence by talking about the first, or the second or 3rd issue? No student wanted to talk. They were too frightened of the politicians. Finally, three people agreed to speak; me, Jean, and Lubov. Now we were ready to go to the State House.
